Nutritional Strategies against Covid-19

Posted 5/4/2020

These are the links for products mentioned in my presentation to the Wellington Rotary Club on 5 May, 2020.

Q. What kind of iodine drops do you use?

A. I'm using something called Life-flo Liquid Iodine Plus. Here's a link: https://amzn.to/2VZ5rSP There are some people who swear that you have to use something called Lugol's iodine for best results. It's also sold on Amazon, but it's about three times as costly as what I'm using. There are whole books on the subject of iodine for health, so maybe they describe the difference. I'm just sampling this one on my Kindle right now—The Iodine Crisis—What You Don't Know about Iodine Can Wreck Your Life: https://amzn.to/3aB15GH

Q. What was that you said about zinc lozenges?

A. Zinc lozenges are useful to fight against colds and similar viruses. As soon as you notice any symptoms such as sneezing or a sore throat, start taking the lozenges and letting each one dissolve in your mouth. Repeat every 3 hours until symptoms subside. Here's a link to one reasonable-looking brand that has antiviral elderberry as a bonus: https://amzn.to/2x7U2YB

Q. What form of vitamin D would you suggest?

A. This is a vitamin D3 plus K2 combo. Vitamin D works best when combined with vitamin K2: https://amzn.to/2XYOj2h

Q. What form of vitamin C do you recommend?

A. This is a liposomal vitamin C. The advantage to liposomal form is that it can get into the cells better than a water-soluble vitamin C. This one is in liquid form, but you may shop around and find some in capsules. https://amzn.to/2x5JTvn

Q. What kind of monolaurin should I buy?

A.Here is a link to the supplement Monolaurin that I may get a chance to mention on the show. In vitro, monolaurin has been shown to dissolve the lipid bilayer surrounding certain viruses. This is essentially the same way that soap works to de-activate the coronavirus. There are no guarantees that it would do the same thing inside your body, but I've been taking it just as a precaution. Monolaurin is made from coconut oil.  https://amzn.to/2S3PhGx

Q. What should I buy to get EpiCor?

A. Genestra is a good brand, often used by naturopaths and holistic nutritionists. Here's the link:  https://amzn.to/2SATlOZ
